I have had a Cliva plant or plants for over 15 years. I have a deck around my house where it sits. I did not know what it was as it was given to me but had nice foliage so kept it. Well, my daughter and I decided to transplant it as the pot had 7 plants in it. We put one plant in a pot and then 4 plants in another pot and 2 plants in another pot.. The last 4 years they have bloomed in April and this year I had twins on one plant and the others all had one bloom. I do nothing to them except a little water from my watering system.
I have never fertilized them. It froze this winter but never moved them from their original spot. I live in northern CA--Orovile CA

Enrico!

I think my first response to you was somehow lost in cyberspace. I apologize. I will try this again. In Mike's video the missing words are "soaked in chlorox water" and "wiped with hydrogen peroxide". The chlorox water sterilizes the scissors and the hydrogen peroxide stops the leaf from oozing sap after the cut.

Have a great day!

Hi Pat!

Congratulations on your bloom! Great job! If you want to allow the plant to produce berries, just keep the stalk on the plant. If you don't want berries, snap the stalk off near the top. The remaining portion of the stalk will eventually turn yellow and wither to brown. Once it has dried, you can safely remove it from the plant. If you try to remove the green flower stalk before it withers, you could damage the plant. It is hard to remove.

Have a great day!

Thanks so much! I live in Florida, and would like to try growing the Victoria waterlilies in our large pond. We've seen them at Bok Tower Gardens. Will the book be available on Amazon? If not, I will order directly from the Garden Shop. I enjoyed your last book very much. I bought it when I was visiting my folks in PA. Thanks again!
